Giovanni Battista Apartment
The rooms in Palazzo Chimelli have a story to tell. It is the story of a spinning mill (filanda), founded 150 years ago by Giovanni Battista. The business was set up in just 100 days, with the aim of producing the most prestigious silk in Italy. It succeeded. At its peak of production, in the early 1900s, the company employed over 400 people. The mulberry tree provided food for the silkworms, those patient, silent exponents of the world’s most famous cloth.

The Giovanni Battista apartment measures 105 square metres, and is very spacious and bright. It has been recently renovated (in 2015) and offers luxurious decor with elegant furnishings and finishes.
We have specially designed it to suit families and groups. We chose real wood parquet flooring (no laminates), and painted the walls and ceilings white to create a bright, warm environment.
The kitchen is equipped with the very latest technology and devices, to allow our guests to cook as they would at home. We therefore selected an induction hob, a pyrolytic oven, a column-style fridge and professional dishwasher.
The living room is furnished with sofas and tables for lunch and dinner. There is also satellite TV, and a good Wi-Fi signal (provided free) throughout the apartment.
You can make arrangements for breakfast when you check in. We will ensure you find everything you need at your door, at the time agreed. We will not disturb you, so that you can enjoy the privacy you deserve.
The bathroom is equipped with everything you need for your holiday, however long or short. From the linen to the towels, to the soaps and shampoos: everything is designed to pamper you.
We have chosen Simmons technology for the master bedroom, used by all the world’s most prestigious hotels, to ensure you enjoy a relaxing and invigorating sleep. You can choose between two types of pillow, hard or soft, depending on your preferences and needs.
There is an extra bedroom and the possibility of converting a sofa into a bed, providing comfortable accommodation for up to six people.
